Dance and Weddings
Went to watch the very much acclaimed Lord Of the Dance created by Michael Fletchley on Thursday. We had purchased them last november, so when this week arrived, mary and I assumed it was on the friday.. Thank GOODNESS her friend michelle checked the tickets on thursday and rang us up saying it was that night!! ahh.. it would have been absolutely DISASTROUS if we had gone on friday night and realised we had just missed the show the night before!!! they cost A BOMB.. not funny man.
ANYWAY.. it was an absolute BLAST! for those of you who have seen River Dance ( partially created by michael fletchley too) , this is bigger, bolder and more fantastic! Its basically irish dancing - think extreme tap dancing which gets faster and faster as the music gets faster - the floor of the stage had mikes beneath which amplified the individual taps of all the dancers , the synchronized dancing was absolutely incredible - it just left you gaping in awe of how anyone could move their feet soooo quickly with different rhythms, different combinations of rhythms. I particularly enjoyed the acapella dancing - basically the irish dance without music.. so you could really hear the intricate taps.. - this left you with a permanant grin on your face which you were unaware of until it ended, then you realise your cheek muscles were sore. hhaa.. anyway if any of you have a chance GO SEE!!!
