blissful solitude
I am known among PT and gang as the hermit - hermit babs- thats what they call me. I do enjoy solitude..its 1045 pm in the evening.. waiting for Pt and his gf jennifer, clem and mary to come bk to the flat to hang out, possibly watch a dvd. So here I am, alone in the flat, becky and rhian have gone out to potterow to club.Ive got my music playing from my laptop from my room, and im in the kitchen ironing my denim skirt. I havent had dinner so Ichuck half a pizza into the oven to cook. Suddenly it just struck me how nice it is to just live by yourself and get by with routine mundane things such as housechores with the music playing. its ever so relaxing and you feel so at peace with yourself and the world.. me likey.
mary's just shouted from downstairs - so the solitude ends here for now. =@)

OSCE disaster
hello all.. so Ive finaly finished my exams.. and im a free woman. hahaha
buddeennnn yesterday my osces were a partial disaster. haha. well you see, we had 7 stations, 2 tests per station of 5.5 min each, with 2 rest stations. man, my heart was pumping so hard as all of us stood infront of the doors waiting for the whistle to blow. ( it was held in a GP practice btw) so the whistle went, and I entered the room. There was a patient there with the examiner, the examiner confirmed my name and told me to read the sheet of instructions. so I did... NOT.
well, I read the first bit. So kancheong that i didnt read the second bit for some bizarreihavenoideawhy reason. It was about this guy who's brother just suffered a heart attack, and he was concerned that he may have high blood pressure..etc. SO for some crazy reason, I started taking the patients history?!?!?!?!?! mmm so like 1 min through I thought to myself " this is jsut not right, the patient does not have a presenting complaint, argh. So i glance at the sheet again, and go AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
I was supposed to be taking his blood pressure.
OMG.. so i apologised profusely to the examiner who just told me to get on with it. haha AND DEN i realised that my diaphragm ( the part of the stethescope which you would normally used ) was turned off! ( I actually did make sure it was turned on before I went into the room.. but who knows, we've already established i do bizarre things) so as I released the pressure from the cuff, i couldnt hear a damn thing.
yay. So I just relied on the tics the needle (medics u know what i mean) made to make an agar agar measurement.. and gave the meaasurement. hahaa
that was just ONE station. but the rest were recently quite decent. - well compared to the first station larh. you get the picture.
SIGH. oh well... nevermind, first time.. I will get better... and i will be a good doctor when i graduate. I promise all of you.
my family's coming tomorrow!! yay! =@) so ill be mia for the next week or so den will be bk in singapore!

oo haha.. i forgot to mention in the revious pic that we were at edinburgh's version of mambo night! called big cheese.. haha and mm so we were sitting down chatting while this couple of the left were making out furiously, so I thought why not give them their moment of glory and took a snap - without flash of course. =@) mwahaha

peanut but'a and chicken rice
MAN im soooo full.. did you know, that if you have bourbon vanille vanilla ice cream with peanut butter and jam - I PROMISE you, you will be left in an orgasmic state - which technically means you burn 140 cals, but heh, wishful thinking.. haha
had a lovely meal last night with pt and clem over. Finally got down to using the prima mix for hainanese chicken rice ( the one which ben sent up in a big box last year) last night. So mary and I had a fine time playing with the raw chicken ( we actually took a picture of it with her glasses on, yes - thats what exam time does to you ..haha) before we lowered it into the boiling stock and contributed its skin's oils. mm... it did turn out pretty well though, both chicken and rice, and pt brought over sambal eggplant with mince pork which was yummy! ended the meal with tong yun and bourbon vanille ice cream...!
mummy finally sent me pics of the new place we're moving to. For those who dont know, casa rosita has gone enbloc, so we're being " chased" out.. so sad man. This summer will be the last 3.5 months in my house, my room, my kitchen, my dining room, the study.. ok you get the picture. I duno, I always imagined somehow ( I know this is damn girly of me, but just bare with it la) that I would get married from casa rosita.. walk down the stairs in my wedding dress, with everyone waiting in the living room, before my dad made his lil speech, and we all drank champagne. haha.. but oh well, i guess this will have to take place in this new place. Also, SOOOOOOO many memories of ben and I's( i think this is wrong grammer) early relationship days, the many garden walks.. etc..etc...cant reveal too much, but yeah. sigh.
but anyway, I guess I've sorta accepted that im moving, moving to wing-on life gardens. Just up the road from casa rosita along bukit timah road. Absolutely hated it when i first saw another unit there when i was home, and I was actually quite upset with my mum and dad for getting that place, cause I had hopes that I would actually get to live in a landed property. But this new place ( another unit) is really nicely done up, and think we're doing further renovations to it to have a balinese contemporary look to it. So this summer, will be going round with my mum buying things for my new room and designing any changes required, should be fun!
exams this wed and thurs.. so weird man. I feel prepared, yet not at all.. argh. maybe its time to get a lil stress.. its good for you sometimes. poo.

rollar coaster ride
no.. i still havent sat on a real rollar coaster yet.. unless you count those gay ones that used to be in asean village ( or was it asian village?) in singapore..the kind which is like 1m off the ground.. uber gay. haha..
but anyhow.. the week has been a bundle of ups and downs.. mainly downs if you ask me.. probably made worse cos my body is oozing with progesterone and oestrogen right now.. heh..
all i can say is that THANK GOD for friends like mary... who never fails to say the right thing, never fails to make me feel better , even if its for like 10 minutes before i start going downhill again.. and never fails to be right...she's the only person i know who ALWAYS says " dol youre not fat!" even though ive wailed about my " fatness"like a billion times.. most normal people would be saying im obese by now.. haha..
anyhow... things look like their on a mini uphill now.. perhaps. hopefully and surely.. nows time to actually get the damn choo choo train started again with regards to the upcoming exams.. this week has been UBER unproductive... bad bad bad. ive just got bout 8 min and 26 seconds to go before I start the day with my revision..

overseas blues
what an unproductive evening.. if i had known it was going to be this unproductive, i would have gone out at 5pm, when the revision stopped. gah.
i have slumped into one of those " think too much" blues yet again.. there's always some form of trigger. ugh.
i have feasted on nothing but pure carbs today - absolutely horrendous, I think it may be time for the termly diet to start.. " day 1 , in the big babs house.." dont worry if you didnt get that. it some dumb joke between mary and i about my dieting, if you watch or are familier with big brother, youll know what i mean. ha.
I need to reconnect with friends, ive been so out of touch lately, just with the occasional hi and bye on msn, people are way too busy, they should just be freer and talk to me on msn. oh, the selfish me emerges. ugh.
been feeding my tv appetite with House alot lately, devoured the whole of season one which ben bought for me from shenzhen. boy do i love that show.. haha.. i totally dig hugh laurie ( only with his american accent though) haha..
maybe this is period blues? and I so need to revise.. i wish it stayed bright till 12 midnight, how cool would that be? I used to love it when it fell dark, cos it meant i could concentrate better. but now, I work better when its bright. by " work better", I mean, I actually do work. haha.
FRIENDS WHO READ, talk to me please? I miss proper close friend conversations, if you know what i mean.
Ive realised that when exams are weeks away, I become this social recluse, who doesnt want to go out at all. just wants to stay in the flat all day. you know why? cos I need time to procrastinate.. so to study something which would require 1 hour, i need 3 hours. you get the picture.
I want to read a noval so bad - preferally a medical drama. I love all things medical - I need House's brain. how cool would that be?
